About the VCD:
This VCD works just like any other DVD. Pop it in your
home DVD player and enjoy these videos on your home TV in
stereo surround sound! This VCD works on most all DVD players
(100% will work on all CD-R compliant DVD players). These
discs can also be viewed on your home computer by accessing
the root file like this:
Explore
the Disc - Open folder 'MPEGAV' -> Each XX.DAT file is
a video, just double click and open it in Windows Media Player
or drag and drop each XX.DAT file into Windows Media Player
and it will play like normal!
Each
chapter is selectable just like any other DVD chapter just
hit the next button!
Clips
1-4 are NOPI based. The 3 low resolution Nopi video's that
I distributed on the net are the first 3. The first centers
more on my own car. The second one is focused on drifting,
the third and fourth clip are focused purely on the show.
Clips
5-7 are large amounts of footage I have taken over the past
two years. From in my car views of my friends Supra, to large
amounts of Celica's on the highway to HUGE groups of MR2's!
These clips, which have never been available, are the best
of the VCD! If you wanted lots of footage, you just got it!
The
8th clip is purely dyno's of MR2's, NA and Turbo. Celica's
from 3S-GTE swap's, to 20V 4A-GE runs, these dyno's are presented
without music so that you can hear it all. Most all show the
car's hp numbers right after the run!
The
9th clip is just credits time thanking those of you that have
been apart of these video's, my friend Sean with submitted
completely original songs for part of the VCD, Family and
my Celica'net community for helping me make it to some events
like NOPI to even bring you this VCD!
The
charge is 10.00. This 10 dollars is being broken up into 3
parts that are not equal. A good portion of it is going to
website development for us to get us new functions on the
site, another portion is going to paying for our web space
and data transfer's and the last bit is going into an account
to make these kinds of things happen more often in the future
to bring you MORE Celica Chronicles! (any copies ordered outside
of the US need to add an additional 3 dollar shipping charge
for a total of 13.00 USDM)
Make
sure to check if your DVD player is compatible to play VCD's
first (most home DVD players will), but PS2's and XBox's are
neither VCD compliant. Even though VCD is a substandard format
of DVD (in general) and they will play DVD, the software written
by Sony and Microsoft more than likely lock's this play back
function out. Sucks, but your trying to play a disc on a piece
of hardware that is a closed system (i.e. not like a computer
where you can go in and change drivers or hardware, in this
case.. your restricted by what the parent company [Sony or
Microsoft] have given you). Since I understand most people
won't be playing these on PS2's and XBox's.. I don't see it
as a problem.
If
you are interested, you can send payment to my paypal account,
you will HAVE to supply your mailing address in your paypal
payment for shipping to take place! Otherwise, how am I suppose
to know where to send the video if you all don't supply me
the address? So make sure you leave your address in the comments!
Send
10.00 USDM Payment to: celica90_2000@yahoo.com on paypal!
(Any orders outside of the USA add an additional 3.00)

History:
This VCD was
original a concept I had over two years ago while attending
Michigan State University. I had become very interested in
my Toyota Celica even before I bought it. Unaware of the kind
of crazed obsession I had begun, I also started a cult following
on a small site called Celica.net. I sent in a proposal to
a local Communication Arts company that had a department in
Video Editing. This was in hopes to get a scholarship that
Red Bull was giving out for film students. My mind started
spinning and I realized the kinds of things I could achieve.
After 3 years of hard work on the site, meeting people, getting
equipment together my vision to film a completely Celica oriented
and independent film grew.
After
close consultation with a friend, Sean, I begun to map
out long term goals that needed to be accomplished to reach
the end and final product. Sean is talented in music and I
asked for him to come up with some original music selections
for the film. Sean came through and provided a very original
score for the film (Clip 5 & Credits). I had what I needed
and the rest as you can see is history.....
Here
is the original copy of the proposal, click
here.
Every
day I wake up and I realize how young I am and the great
life that I have. I have a car I could have only dreamed about
and a technical knowledge if not on par but beyond my love
for the celica because of this passion. It has become a part
of my life, this site and the people. I am planning for bigger
and better things, and with the advent of the GT2, we'll see
you again back here on celica.net for my action on the Sebring
and Moroso track late 2004!
Reviews:
Just got my copy in about an hr ago, would of watched it sooner
but i didnt roll outta bed till 3 so go figure.
First off, Ill get the shitty stuff out of the way. For all
those of you that want this to work in your PS2, it wont,
it spits it back out ya and tells ya to go play it elsewhere.
But it worked on my computer's dvd player with media player.
It will also work in normal home dvd players.
It comes with 9 clips, clip 1 and 2 are the nopi clips Clay
relased b4 so those i skipped. the 3rd clip is also a nopi
one but im not sure if he posted this one or not, and niether
is he, but hey, its nice.
clips 4-8 are badass. clip 4 is wrapping up nopi with a nice
aray of cars to each his own. clip 5 is where the real nice
shit starts poping up, CELICAS. ALL CELICAS. tons of em, just
driving around to kickass music and badass effects by you
know who. then clip 9, well, all im gonna say it watch all
of clip 9..... [HeHe]
The quality is what Clay has told us b4, awesome. no little
squares here and no little pixels there. its a sharp clear
image........as long as u keep the window small. as i enlarged
the media players view window the video kinda gets a tad blurry,
so just keep it the normal size and you be more then happy.
the length is also nice. not short little spurts of shit,
clips range from 4 min to 10.
it is a msut get for ALL of you. its only $10 and it goes
to help the site, which you all use daily, and some, well,
for all your porn needs. So buy it and help keep the site,
and porn stashes, running. Clay did an awesome job with camera
angles and nice background music, and at the dyno, takes the
music away so you can hear the beautiful BOV's on the MR2's
and the Celicas on there. And the "special effects"
is a nice touch.
this is an awesome VCD and i am looking very forward to the
next one, keep the shit coming clay, and for the rest of you,
buy it.
I give it a [Thumbs Up] [Thumbs Up] [Thumbs Up] out of [Thumbs
Up] [Thumbs Up] [Thumbs Up] [Thumbs Up] (only cause i cant
watch it on my damn PS2, fuck u sony!
CelicaPlaya

John
Clayton-
Well, it turns out it worked on neither of my DVD players.
The one I use is an Xbox, which you noted wouldn't work anyhow.
The other in the house is a Samsung DVD/VCR combo player.
No problem, I played in in WMP, and it rocked :) Great work
man, I didn't expect anything more. I really liked the driving
material as well as the footage from NOPI. I watched it all
the way through and I have to compliment you on the music
choice, too. All the music went right with the footage. Tell
me, am I the only person to notice the naked chick posing
next to the white 6th gen at the end of the credits? :P
Thanks for producing this great video, hopefully there will
be more in the future!
Mike
I enjoyed it very much. Was worth the $10. My favorite parts
are the drifts and dynos. I wish I was at those celi meets
driving around all together, that looks fun [Big Grin] . I'm
definitely looking forward to Chronicles 2.
Andrew
This video is amazing! The quality is good on my computer,
and the sounds are decent. Those Toyotas sound so good! If
Volume 2 is released I will be one of the first in line. Thanks
Clayton for releasing such a fine video to the Toyota community.
ToyotaPower2164
Its a great DVD, well worth 10 bux. it looks better to me
than most of the street racing DVDs you can buy. maybee I
just really like Celicas and awsome trance and techno. my
car is in with all the others from KC area in a group shot
on clip 9 and there some REALLY NICE other pics in clip 9
